Living in harmony with the environment is not only hetitlehier but also more sound as a production approach. Las Marías has made environmental care a key aspect of everyday work.

» Minimal tillage is practiced on the cultivation of black tea, yerba mate and forest species as a way to protect the fertility of the soil against erosion caused by the copious, torrential rains in the region.

» Biological products that favor the natural action of beneficial insects, harmless to the environment and innocuous to humans, are given preference to protect the plantations from pests. In addition, insecticides are replaced by specially developed natural products, all within the “Integrated Pest Management” system.
» The forests of diverse indigenous species that grow in the vicinity of the plantations (mainly Cedar, Urunday, Lapacho, Canafistula, Peteriby, Guayubira, Viraró, White Tip and Anchico, among others) are maintained and replanted
» There are Natural Flora and Fauna Reserves that monitor natural habitats populated with a great variety of vegetable and animal species, specially protecting those that are endangered.  Among the measures taken is the replacement of native trees of high ecological value.
» The constant concern for the conservation of the environment led to the design of an Ecological Corridor that joins the woods to the native landscapes, allowing the movement of animals (deer, foxes, monkeys and capybaras, among others) and the development of typical plants of the area (lapachos, palms, fruit trees, etc.).
From the times of the Guaranis to the present,  mate represents  the most profound of our culture and embodies one of the most fundamental values: sharing.
